Artisan workshops are interesting and informative visits, giving an insight into the amount of work that goes into crafts made in Morocco. Fes medina has some 9000 streets making up the world's´ largest car free zone and very easy to get lost. This is a fascinating day with a driving tour to view the medina from an elevated point. In the evening, you return to your accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Fes - Azrou - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Erfoud - Night Merzouga Camel Trek

We will start our 6 days Morocco tour from Rabat by leaving Fes, we continue south passing through the town of Ifrane; known as Little Switzerland, you will notice its alpine architecture. The great cedar forests of Azrou are home to the Barbary apes and you will see them in the trees. Midelt is where we will take a lunch break before continuing our journey south. The landscapes change dramatically on this drive, rivers and lakes surrounded by sculptured mountains, palm groves in sunken valleys and villages of traditional adobe. We pass through Erfoud; famous for its fossil workshops and soon enough you will realise you are in the desert. Once in Merzouga, your camels will be ready to take you off across the dunes to your desert camp for the night. After dinner, local musicians will play around the campfire as you wonder at this amazing place with its millions of stars.

Day 5: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorge - Dades Gorge

One of the camp teams will wake you up in the morning to witness the desert sunrise; this is a special part of the day when the silence is breath-taking. After breakfast, you return with the camels to your Merzouga. We continue our 6 Day Desert tour from Rabat by leaving Merzouga, you will pass through Rissani; the last trading centre for nomads and desert dwellers. You will see the type of buildings are unusual; many are kasbahs which are made of adobe and have stories written in their walls with symbols. Our next visit will be Todra Gorge, located a short distance from Tinghir, this 300 metre fault was created from the river carving its way through the mountain; a beautiful place to take a walk and enjoy. Back down to Tinghir, and we follow the Dades Valley to reach Boumalne Dades town and drive up in the gorge of the same name. You will spend the night in a Riad with dinner and breakfast.

Day 6: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas - Marrakech

After breakfast, we will drive you to see what makes this gorge so amazing; erosion has caused the rocks to become like fat monkeys fingers, a unique place with many hidden kasbahs. We return to the valley and continue passing many more kasbahs and villages. The Rose Valley is a fertile valley where many fruits and crops are grown; the hedges of the fields are all roses which are harvested for their precious oils. Leaving this region, we pass the palm grove of Skoura and enter the city known as the Hollywood of Africa; Ouarzazate.  Here there are several cinema studios used for many well-known movies. Further on, we take a side road so you can visit the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, best known as the location for the movie The Gladiator. Here we will also take a lunch break. In the afternoon, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the highest drivable pass of Tizi n´Tichka at 2260 metres altitude. Switchback roads take you through Berber villages and fields to finally emerge on the plains of Al Haouz and the red city of Marrakech. Your accommodation is our final destination. We'll drop you off there and conclude the 6 Days Morocco Desert tour.
