Tour Plan

Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen

On the first day of your 7 days tour from Tangier to Marrakech. One of our expert guides will be in Tangier to meet you, either at the port or airport.

Tangier is the gateway from Europe to Africa and has a cosmopolitan feel alongside its old medina with interesting history.

Leaving the city, we head south east passing through some beautiful scenery, forest, fields and rivers to reach the elevated location of the blue city of Chefchaouen.

Overnight in a typical local guesthouse or riad. We recommend going to the square for dinner to soak up the ambience.

Day 2: Explore Chefchaouen - drive to Fes via Volubilis

On the second day of your desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech You will have the morning free to explore this colourful medina with its narrow streets, stairways and shops. Famous for its blue colours; you will want to take a lot of photographs.

After lunch, we will depart for the ancient medina of Fes. On the way, we will stop to visit the 2nd century Roman ruins at Volubilis.

This strategic metropolis was once a very busy city; you can still see some impressive buildings and mosaics. In the afternoon, we arrive in Fes where you will overnight in a riad with dinner and breakfast.

Day 3: Explore Fes with local guide

After a delicious breakfast, we will start our 7 days Morocco tour from Tangier by visiting Fes. An experienced local guide will meet you at your riad to kick start your exciting day in Fes.

Your guide will provide you with an overview of the day's itinerary, tailored to your interests and preferences.

Fes is known for its diverse array of artisanal workshops, including leather, ceramics, rugs, weaving, metalwork, leatherwork, and dyeing. You will have the opportunity to visit some of these workshops and witness firsthand the craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.

In addition to the workshops, Fes boasts unique architectural features in each neighborhood. From schools and fountains to bakeries, mosques, and hammams, your guide will take you on a journey through Fes's rich cultural heritage.

Fes's Medina, a car-free maze with approximately 9000 streets, can be challenging to navigate on your own. Your guide will lead you through the narrow alleyways, providing historical and cultural context along the way. You'll learn about Fes's past and present, giving you a deep understanding of this ancient city's unique culture.

After a full day of exploration, return to your riad for dinner and an overnight stay. The memories and experiences you gain from exploring Fes with a local guide will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

Day 4: Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Erfoud - Merzouga

After breakfast, we will start our 7 days tour tour from Tangier to Marrakech by leaving Fes, we continue southwards to the great cedar forests of Ifrane and Azrou where you likely will see the indigenous apes swinging in the trees.

You will also see nomadic families living in rustic shelters with their flocks of animals. The landscapes change many times on this journey south and you will get a sense of the diversity of this country.

In Midelt, we take a lunch break and then continue following the river and passing colourful mountains. The Ziz Valley will be the first palm grove you will see in a gorge below you.

The fossil capital of Erfoud has many interesting workshops and museums dedicated to the fossils and minerals found locally including dinosaur bones.

Then, you will see the dunes in the distance… Once you have entered the Sahara Desert Merzouga, you will be welcomed at your accommodation with a glass of mint tea. Overnight in Merzouga.

Day 5: Explore Merzouga with 4x4 - Camel Trekking and night in the Desert

The fifth day of our 7 day Morocco Desert tour from Tangier, after breakfast, you will start your desert adventure exploring this amazing landscape.

The golden dunes, the black hamada, mines, oases, villages and nomads can all be found here as well as rock art, the old Dakar rally trails and the village of Khamlia. Sudanese slaves once worked the mines and now, their descendants play Gnaoua music for visitors.

In the afternoon, you will meet your camel team for the trek. You will ride a camels for 1-hour 30 minutes crossing the  sand dunes.

After enjoying a stunning sunset and trying a sand-boarding, you will arrive at the desert camp where you will spend the night. You will be greeted with traditional mint tea upon arrival at the camp, and you will have time to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the desert.

A delicious dinner of traditional Moroccan cuisine will be served under the stars, accompanied by live Berber music around a campfire. A memorable experience and a wonderful adventure.

Day 6: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorge - Dades Gorge

If the night with the stars wasn’t amazing enough, you should get up early enough to experience the predawn and sunrise; it is very special, peaceful and beautiful.

We pack up and return by camel to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. We will start our 7 days desert tour from Tangier by leaving the Merzouga desert we travel north to the market town of Rissani; last trading post before the desert.

We pass through small adobe villages and towns to reach Tinghir and the Todra Gorge. This 300 metre fault in the mountains was carved out by the crystal clear waters of the river and is a haven for international rock climbers.

The Dades Valley is one of the longest in Morocco and has another amazing gorge to visit; the Dades Gorge has some unique rock formations and many hidden kasbahs. We will spend the night in this location in a Riad.

Day 7: Dades Gorge - Rose Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - High Atlas - Marrakech

After breakfast on the last day of our Desert trip from Tangier. time for some photos and back down to the valley, this is called the route of a thousand kasbahs, you will see many as we drive through.

This is also home to the Damascus rose which is grown around the fields and harvested for its precious oil. Leaving these fertile fields, we pass the palm grove of Skoura and arrive in the cinema city of Ouarzazate.

We can stop to visit one of the kasbahs here before continuing to the ksar of Ait Benhaddou, made famous by the Gladiator movie as well as dozens more.

After a lunch break, we continue crossing the High Atlas Mountains, over the highest drivable pass at Tizi n´Tichka at 2260 metres above sea level.

Winding our way down, we pass through many Berber villages to emerge on the plains below and the medina of Marrakech.

The 7 days tour from Tangier will come to an end when we arrive to Marrakech and drop you off at your accommodation.
