Our driver guide will come to pick you up from the Ouarzazate airport (or from your accommodation) to begin your excursion of 2 days desert tour from Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Merzouga. Starting with a walking tour of Ouarzazate city, also known as the Hollywood of Morocco, where we will visit the Atlas cinema museums.
Following that we will head to one of the most iconic historical monuments of the area, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This 17th century Kasbah is currently a UNESCO world heritage monument, and is still being used as a backdrop for big Hollywood films. After spending some time at the Kasbah.
After that, we will continue driving straight to the town of Merzouga through the Dades valley and the town of Erfoud. Accompanied by local desert guides, we will go on a camel trek excursion via the desert dunes while the sun is setting over the horizon.
The camels will take us to a camp neatly hidden in the middle of the desert dunes. Once at the camp, you’ll enjoy a night of laughter, shared stories, and good food surrounded by a lovely campfire.
The next morning, one of the most beautiful parts about staying at the Sahara will take place. Of course, we’re talking about the unmissable desert sunrise, which casts its warm rays upon the golden sand dunes.
Once that is out of the way, we will have breakfast then we will ride camels back to the town. At Merzouga, you will reunite with your driver, who will take you through the Draa valley and small Berber towns such as Nkob and Agdz.
