On the first day of our four-day desert vacation from Agadir, we'll travel to Ouarzazate. We'll visit a number of fascinating Berber settlements in the Sous Valley. We'll have the chance to visit Taroudant, sometimes known as "Little Marrakech" by locals.
The village was created as a military garrison to oppose the Portuguese invasion by the Saadian dynasty. Before moving on to Taliouine and Taznakht, you'll see its historic Medina.
Our next stop will be Ait Benhaddou's Kasbah fortress. The latter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Morocco's largest Kasbah.
We'll then travel to Ouarzazate's cinema city. It is well-known for its Atlas Studios, which make it a great filming location.
Many films and television shows were filmed there, including Prison Break and Gladiator. You will be able to see their studios, and at the end of the day, we will bring you to your lodging.
After breakfast, we'll begin our four-day desert tour of the Sahara desert, which will take us from Agadir to Merzouga. Before reaching Todgha Gorges, we'll pass via the Skoura and Rose Valley oasis areas.
We'll take a break there for lunch and to admire the canyon's stunning walls. We'll then travel to Touroug, Erfoud, and Merzouga.
When you get to Merzouga, your camels will be waiting for you. You'll take them across the Erg Chebbi sand dunes and spend the night in a genuine Berber tent.
Locals will amuse you with music around the fire as you relax and enjoy your time under a gorgeous starry sky.
On this day of your 4-day desert tour from Agadir, you'll have a fantastic chance to see a stunning sunrise from the top of the dunes. After that, you'll have breakfast before we head out to Rissani.
We'll visit a typical market in this city, which becomes very crowded on Souk days. Traditional artifacts are available for purchase.
Then we'll go across the Draa Valley, stopping in Alnif, Tazarrine, and Nkob along the way.
You'll have the option of driving off-road via the old caravan route and ancient kasbahs on your way to Agdz.
We drive from Agdz to Taznakht, a town known for its Berber gems and carpets, after breakfast. We will pass through gorgeous countryside and the Bouazzer mines on our trip.
This part of the nation is more remote and off-the-beaten-path. Later, we'll cross the Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes on our way to Agadir.
We stop for lunch at Taliouine, the saffron-growing region of Morocco, where there is an outstanding small museum dedicated to the art of saffron farming.
In the afternoon, the path takes us back to Taroudant, where we follow the often-dry Souss River and countless argane trees on all mountain slopes down to Agadir, where we arrive at the end of the afternoon.
