Our lovely 5 Day Tour From Agadir To Marrakech will begin as soon as we depart from your hotel and proceed south east. We'll stop in Taliouine, a small village noted for its saffron, for a cup of saffron tea at one of the saffron cooperatives. It's also an opportunity to learn how to tell the difference between "genuine" and "fake" saffron. After a relaxing stay, we'll travel to Taznakht, which has become a major center for the production of Berber rugs. Then we'll continue on our adventure till we reach the magnificent Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A kasbah that once belonged to one of Morocco's most powerful dynasties. During the 16th and 17th centuries, "the Glaoui family" lived in Morocco. It's also considered a fine example of Moroccan mud clay architecture. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. It was also a popular filming site, as it was featured in various films. "Prince of Persia" "Gladiator"...), for example. In this old kasbah, a lunch will be prepared for you to enjoy. Following that, we'll journey to Ouarzazate, dubbed "Africa's Hollywood" for its unique scenery, which has lured many filmmakers to use it in their films. One of Morocco's largest film studios, "The Atlas Studio," will be open to you for a tour. After you've had a great time in the studio, we'll bring you to your hotel or riad, where you'll spend the night with a good dinner.
After breakfast in your Ouarzazate hotel, we'll head for a different destination: Merzouga, a beautiful sahara desert. We'll stop along the journey to admire the Anti-Atlas Mountains' beauty by taking the Tizi N'Tnifift road, which, at a height of 1660 meters, offers stunning vistas as far as the eye can see. We'll make a point of stopping by so you can take some fantastic photos and take in the scenery. After a peaceful stay, we'll travel to the Draa Valley, which was once a caravan route for Sahara traders traveling from "Timbuktu." The Draa Valley is a beautiful place to visit, You will have the opportunity to visit the country's largest and longest palm grove, which is set in the style of old caravans and offers breathtaking vistas. Finally we'll head to Nkob and then Alnif, where you'll have time to stop for lunch at one of the local eateries in Nkob or Alnif. After resting, we'll travel to Rissani, which is a fascinating town; between the 14th and 18th centuries, it was the site of the fabled desert capital "Sijilmassa," where fortunes in gold and slaves were traded via caravans crossing the Sahel; in this old and historical area, you'll visit the largest local and traditionalist market (souq) in Southern Morocco. Finally, you'll arrive at Merzouga, where you'll spend the night with a traditional Moroccan dinner in a Riad/hotel.
After breakfast, we will depart from your lodging to explore the neighboring areas of the magnificent Erg Chebbi. We'll go off the beaten path to meet the nomadic families who live in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. By sharing a cup of mint tea with them, you will be able to see their way of life and how they managed to survive in the Sahara desert. Then it's on to the Mifis mines, which are situated on a high plateau with a spectacular perspective of Erg Chebbi and the desert environment. After that, we'll travel to Khamlia village (Gnaoua village), where the people are from Black Africa and have had a long and strong relationship with the Sahara. In caravans that reached in the southeastern region of Morocco, their forefathers were transported from central and west Africa across the Sahara desert. We'll learn more about them and listen to some of their traditional music. We'll have a fantastic meal of berber pizza after listening to traditional gnaoua music. After that, you'll ride your camels into a mystical world via Erg Chabbe's sand dunes, with a panoramic view of the Sahara's unique sunset. Finally, you will arrive at our camp in a relaxed attitude, enjoy a delectable and traditional Berber (Amazigh) meal in the middle of the desert, and spend the evening around the fire listening to Berber music while gazing at the limitless starry sky.
It is recommended to wake up early in the morning so you will not miss one of the most beautiful sunrises of your life. From the camp, you will have two choices: either to come back to the village by camels or by car. From there, we will start our day to Dades Gorges. Our first stop will be Erfoud: It is one of the oldest known sites, where you can find precious and unique fossils. Then to The Irrigation System: which began in ancient times, diverse societies on both sides of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco built thousands of wells and tunnel systems similar to qanats in Iran or foggaras in Algeria. In Morocco, these systems are known as khettaras. Following that, we'll travel to Touroug and then Tinjdad, where you'll have time to eat lunch in one of the local restaurants in Touroug or Tinjdad. We'll go on to our one-of-a-kind destination, the Todra Gorges, after we've completed our restoration. It's Morocco's highest and narrowest stunning gorges, standing 300 meters tall and only 20 meters apart at their narrowest point. It is also known as one of the most beautiful canyons in the world. We'll drive to the Dades Gorges after a brief walk around the massive cliffs and take in the beautiful scenery, where you'll spend the night with an authentic meal in a Riad/hotel.
We'll return to the Red City after breakfast in your Dades Gorges lodging (Marrakech). Rose Valley will be our first stop. Stopping to smell the roses is well worth the effort. (Friendly Reminder: The ideal time to see roses is late May.) Then it's on to Skoura Oasis, also known as the Thousand Kasbah Road. There will be an opportunity to see Amridil Kasbah, a historic kasbah. In this 17th-century marvel, you'll find Morocco's most prized kasbah. We'll move on to Ouarzazate after having a lovely day in the Kasbah. Then you'll go into the high Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch in one of the local restaurants.
