On the first day of your 8 day Morocco itinerary, our driver guide will meet you at the airport in Marrakech and take you to the riad in the medina where you are staying. The rest of the day is free to explore.

After breakfast on the second day of this 8 days tour from Marrakech to Tangier, your local guide will come to meet you and tell you about the walking tour, the places you will visit and its history. Marrakech has palaces, old schools for studying the Quran, gardens, souks, mosques and many more interesting places to visit. The rest of the day is free for shopping or resting in your riad. Overnight in Marrakech.

After breakfast, we leave the plains and wind our way up into the High Atlas Mountains. Here you will pass many Berber villages and catch a glimpse of their lifestyle. At 2260 metres above sea level, we cross Tizi n´Tichka; the highest drivable pass in Morocco. On the way down we stop to visit the Ksar Ait Ben haddou; this UNESCO site has been the location for many movies including Gladiator and Prince of Persia. After a lunch break, we continue to Ouarzazate; the cinema capital. You will see many kasbahs as we pass the palm grove of Skoura and enter the Dades Valley. Kelaat M’gouna is the Roses capital where fragrant pink roses are grown around the fields and harvested for their oils and perfume. In Boumalne Dades, we take the road up into the gorge where we spend the night.

After breakfast, we will start the forth day of our 8 days Morocco tour from Marrakech to Tangier by stopping to photograph the amazing rock formations in this gorge and the hidden kasbahs. Returning to the valley we continue to Tinghir and drive up to visit the Todra Gorge. This natural fault was created by the crystal waters in the river, some 300 metres high, it is very popular with rock climbers looking to make new routes. The landscapes start to change as more palm groves appear as we travel south eventually reaching Merzouga in the Sahara. Your camels will be waiting to take you across the dunes to your camp for the night under the stars. Dinner and music around a campfire are on the menu.

An early start is recommended to watch the first light of the day emerge on the horizon; a special time when the silence and colours are breath-taking. After breakfast, you ride the camels back to meet your driver and start your desert adventure. Khamlia is a village inhabited by descendants of Sudanese slaves that once worked in the mines. Now they play a soulful Gnaoua performance which you will visit. In the afternoon, your driver will drop you off at your hotel where you can relax and enjoy the views.

Today on the sixth day of our 8 days desert trip from Marrakech, we will depart Merzouga and drive all the way to Fes crossing mountains and passing many different vistas. In Erfoud, we stop to visit one of the fossil workshops to see the amazing products made from the ancient finds. The Ziz Gorge is a sunken palm grove and very impressive as it heralds the end of the desert regions. Next stop is Midelt for a lunch break. In the afternoon, you will see nomadic families living in tents and taking care of their animals. The giant cedar forests lay ahead, indigenous Barbary monkeys live in these trees and you will likely see them as we drive through. The architecture is noticeably alpine in this region and is named Little Switzerland. With the forest behind us, Fes is ahead and we will arrive in this medieval medina where you spend the night in a traditional riad.

After breakfast, your local guide will arrive to take you on a walking tour of this car fee maze of some 9000 streets. He will show you some of the more amazing sights and artisan workshops in the souks. In the afternoon, we will drive north to the blue city of Chefchaouen through beautiful woodland scenery with mountains and rivers. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

On the last day of this fantastic 8 days tour from Marrakech to Tangier. In the morning you will have free time to explore and take photographs in this colourful medina.
